Olympics-Soccer-Spain overcome Ivory Coast in further time to succeed in semis


Spain ended a 21-year wait to succeed in the lads's Olympic soccer semi-finals as substitute Rafa Mir scored a hat-trick to safe a 5-2 victory over Ivory Coast in further time on Saturday. Winger Max Gradel appeared to have secured Ivory Coast's place within the remaining 4 when he made it 2-1 with a stoppage time strike, just for Mir to attain virtually instantly on the different finish and drive further time. Ivory Coast's destiny was sealed when defender Eric Bailly, who scored their opening purpose inside 10 minutes, turned from hero to villain as he conceded a penalty with a weird handball contained in the field.
